Hello. I also have a large painting signed Rambert with some kind of initial. It is hard to tell if it is an H ? The painting is a realistic coastal scene 4' by 6'. I myself have been looking for the same answers. I do have another painting that is almost identical to my P. Rambert and it is signed Emerson! Identical paintings but, by two different painters. I'm at a loss. It is possible that it could be from an Art School? If so there highly advanced! It's also possible that my emerson is William Otto Emerson. But, I haven't confirmed it yet.

Hi, I have a painting signed H.M. My dad was a guard at a WWII POW camp near Texarkana, AR. One of the prisoners gave him the painting for a pack of cigarettes. I assumed the German POW painted the seascape looks like it was painting on a tent canvas. I have not found any info on the artist.
