There are many pathologies of the urinary system. The most common is probably chlamydia because the symptoms are so mild that many people have the disease. It is more common in women because their symptoms are the mildest. It is an STD and can cause sterility if not cured. It is caused by a bacteria and can easily be treated with medication. If you are sexually active and have had multiple partners, it would be a good idea to get checked.

The other urinary tract infection (UTI) that is also common is a yeast infection and is caused by a harmless organism in the digestive tract called Candida and it sometimes overpopulates, especially after taking antibiotics, and enters the urethra and causes UTI. Women are more susceptible to this because their urethra is shorter and closer to the anus.
