Kapose's Sarcoma (KS) is an opportunistic disease that occurs in people with weakened immune systems. HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) weakens the immune system severely enough for patients to develop KS.

HIV is not the only cause of weakened immune systems. Other conditions, such as Lupus, may also cause an individual to develop an opportunistic infection.

What is overt infection?

Overt infections are those which are apparent infections. Overt is defined as open and observable as opposed to covert which is hidden, concealed, or secret. This can be contrasted to the situation in which a person is in the prodromal stage of infection, where the patient is highly infectious but is not showing symptoms yet, or of healthy carriers who carry infectious microbes but appear completely healthy. In short, an overt infection means that you/they know you're infected.

There's nothing special to do; you may not get molluscum at all. There's no way to know you're infected with the virus. Just take good care of your health to keep your immune system strong. Eat well, get enough rest, use sunscreen, don't binge drink, and avoid smoking.

Do you have to be in the hospital if you have Ebola?

Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever (EHF) is a Biosafety Level 4 contagion (there is no cure or vaccine to prevent it.) and is highly contagious. depending on the sub-type of the virus there is up to a 90% fatality rate. A person who is showing signs and symptoms of EHF infection should be quarantined to determine if they are infected or not. Other than supportive care hospitals can do nothing to treat EHF, and barrier nursing and universal bio-hazard precautions should be used with any Hemorrhagic Fever patient
