I am going through the same thing. 2 shots (6 months total) and had a period 3 days after not returning for my third shot. i am now 3 weeks late as well and trying to conceive however after multiple negative tests i feel my depo screwed me up
Depoprovera will not make you pregnant for months.
The Depoprovera injection is a very reliable form of birth control. However, when planning on eventually conceiving a child, this will all depend on how long you have been on Depoprovera. Usage time of 1 - 3 years, expect a wait time of your cycle returning to normal atleast 6 to 12 months. 3 - 6 years 12 to 18 months etc... Nowadays, many ob/gyns limit the time you can remain on the injection unless you are very persistent and trouble/symption free.
Yes, if you have not received an injection in 6 months or more and you did not have regular periods while taking the injection. The depo-provera shot suppresses ovulation. Once you begin having regular periods again, then your body should have returned to normal. However, many women still have periods, even when on this type of birth control, so after being off of the injection for several months and once you begin regular periods again, you need to check for ovulation using an ovulation predictor kit, just to make sure. However, realize that it may take as long as 18 months after the last depo-provera shot for periods to return to normal.
It depends why your periods have stopped. You need to find out why.
i would suggest it .
Sometimes you can still get your period even when you are on the depo shot but it should settle down after a few more months of being on it, some women have periods and some don't it depends on the person, but mine stopped after about 4/5 months. If you have any worries you can always ask your doctor, but it is normal to have a period on the injection. I hope i helped x
the birth control is probably it.
Everyone is different. I've been off the depo shot for a little over a year & I've been getting regular periods for the past 9 months. The first couple months you might spot on & off , but usually within 3 months it should be back to normal .. now how long does it take to ovulate after the depo? - that's a different question .. some people can't get pregnant until 2 years after depo , usually you will be put on birth control pills after to help things go back to normal easier .. good luck!
Are you sure you have not changed your diet or started exercising a lot? If not, you should see a doctor about this. When the menstruation stays away for months it is a sign something is wrong. Speak to your mom.
As in bleeding all the time for 3 months? You need to go and see the doctor. If you mean that you had your periods for 3 months (ie as normal, not lasting for 3 months) and then they didn't arrive on the fourth month, it depends on a few things: . Were those three months your first periods? . Have you had sex? . Is it a combination of both? If they were your first periods and you have NOT had sex, it is not anything to worry about. Periods take about a year (sometimes longer) to regulate If you have had sex, you need to take a pregnancy test If these were not your first three periods, take a pregnancy test if you've had sex and if not, see if you get your next period, and if not, go and see the doctor
No. Speak to your doctor. This pill might not be for you but there are others. Or maybe the injection would work better.
Yes. I was on Depo for approximately 10 years with NO period and then to the pill for about a year with controlled periods. I have since stopped taking ANY type of birth control and have had long 2 week periods and even two full periods a month. It will eventually regulate if not ask Dr. about Provera.
