Check your EGR valve..if its the XUD9TE engine then it is a green clip to the left of the battery
Fault with the clutch probably.
could be burning either gear oil, or motor oil. check for leaks and replace gear oil
Harmonic balancer
under normal operation, and without lugging or over reving engine, 30-40 mph
It would, if you changed out the trans and the ecm/tcm. The SL2 SC2 transmissions have a different higher reving gear ratio.
if this is a standard , it probably as a bad clutch ..... they tend to slip in high gear or higher speeds first which causes over reving
Trany shot this is usually caused by excessive wear and abuse ( such as reving the engine and dropping it into gear at high rpms) or mileage exeeds mechanical limits. However it has probably been abused!
Smoke coming out of steering box usually means the fluid is burned. It can also mean that the steering gear is failing.
There are 3 different distinct colors of smoke coming form and engine. Eaqh one has a different meaning. White Smoke === Coolant leaking into the combustion chamber. Black Smoke === Fuel/Air mixture too rich. Blue Smoke === Oil burning.
It will if you are free reving the engine with out it being in gear. If you are driving it hard down the road and it is kicking in then you may need to have the engine scanned with an OBDII engine scanner and make sure you don't have a problem in the system.
I own a Nissan Caravan Duseal Engine, the problems are as follows: 1. Radiator heating 2. Smoke in vehicle 3. Tramission gear 1 & 2
