speed cable or speed sensor
where is the speedo sensor on a renault kangoo 2001
Disconnecting the speed sensor stops the speedo and odometer. The odometer has to be changed by a certified speedo repair shop.
It is an electric speedo so it can be the speed sensor or in the speedo itself.
If you don't have a speedo cable on your front wheel, you have a speedo sensor. I believe that change was made in 2000.
there is 2 of them depending on what type of tranny you have, the MAIN sensor that makes the speedo work is located on the rear transfer case and NOT on the tranny itself. the other is a much smaller sensor that does go on the tranny but that ones DOESN'T effect your speedo. if you speedo is not working then its going to be the BIG sensor in the rear.
go on you tube it will give you the answer faulty scorpio speedo
Drivers side near the rear of the transmission. Just a side note, I changed mine because my speedo stopped working. It was not the problem. I replaced the speedo cluster from a junk yard from a 1993 model. I had to change the panel surrounding it, but it looks better and the speedo now works! I THINK if the speed sensor is bad, then you would have shifting problems. Also, I THINK the speedometers from that year/style was not good. Every cluster from the junkyards were removed, forcing me to take a chance at a newer model to see if it would work. And I am glad I did - plugged right in!
No. The speed sensor is located on the transmission, and is what drives the speedometer cable, which drives the speedo head. The speedo head is another name for the the speedometer, which is the display gauge that you see while sitting in the car.
speedo cable?
A bad wheel speed sensor can affect the speedo.
The speedo itself or the wiring to the speedo can be bad. The Speedo and all the dash light flickers. Trans. slip, but when i unplug the speed sensor the trans work ok. I change trans. 2 times, speed sensor, alternator, battery. The problem not gone. I need help
