B. Humanism. Humanism in psychology focuses on the holistic understanding of individuals, emphasizing the subjective experiences, self-actualization, and personal growth. It values the individual's unique qualities and free will in shaping their behavior and experiences.
Gestalt psychology emphasizes understanding the whole rather than the sum of its parts and focuses on how individuals perceive and experience the world as meaningful patterns. It places importance on direct observation of behavior and the environment, rather than introspection or breaking experiences into isolated elements. Gestalt psychologists would be interested in how individuals organize and interpret sensory information to create meaningful perceptions and experiences.
Both psychodynamic and phenomenological theories focus on exploring the inner experiences and motivations of individuals. They both emphasize the importance of understanding unconscious processes and the subjective experiences of individuals in shaping behavior and personality. Additionally, both approaches highlight the role of early life experiences in influencing current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
