Check the voltage level from the alternator. Overvoltage is about the only thing that can "fry" a battery. If the voltage is much above 14.5 V, the regulator INSIDE the alternator has failed. The only choice is to replace the alternator.

The linkage for the brake pedal lockout is down on the shifter and when coke and coffee is spilled on the console, it runs on it and keeps it from working. You have to remove the console and clean the linkage.
Check fuses in the power distribution box - usually located under the hood
Nah, it's working just fine, thank you.
It is very difficult to manually raise the roof. The top system is hydrolic. I once asked if I can convert it to a manual roof and I was told no way because of the hydrolic system. Sorry for the bad news, but the best thing to do is to figure out what the problem is. If it is the motor you can by pass it with a switch. Darren 1992 sunbird conv owner If you unhook the hydrolics from your trunk it is fine to do it. It is actually quicker if you do it that way because you can just flip it and go. When you take it off, make sure you have someone with the hoses and a cup to catch the rest of the fluid when you lower it for the first time, otherwise you will have a mess in your trunk.
