Pontiac sunfire 98 radio has locked up I know the code but it still will not unlock . I have reset my radio before with no problem with this code but this time it just stays in LOC position?

my boyfriend is having sort of the same probalem but he just bought the car and doesn know the code. is there a master code?
I actually called into camp Chevy yesterday with the same problem because i just bought my car and it wasn't working like that, they told me that i had to go in and they have to manually reset the code
