Dirty air filter, can contribute to poor mileage. Bad injectors too. Advice Check air filter first . Next check injectors by letting the engine cool off get a heat gun start engine and see if any cylinder by probing the exhaust manifold is cooler than the others. That will tell if one isn't firing. If one is alot cooler theres your problem. Next rather than tearing the truck down get some injector cleaner and run it through to see if it cleans up. If not your looking at an injector.
