President Wilson was the author of the famous '14 Points' as a basis for the peace treaty to be conducted between the Allies and the Axis countries after WW1. When peace negotiations started, he did however not manage to convince England and France to adopt his 14 points as the basis for negotiations, since they chose to go out for enormous damage payments and wanted to cripple Germany as an economic and military threat.
