I'm sure it depends on the car but it cost me about $175 to have mine replaced.
Yes, replace tie rod and have the car realigned.
Changing the tie rod is not difficult, but requires an alignment and special tools. Would suggest having a profesional do the work due to the chance of improper install is very important to the steering of the car.
I believe your referring to a tie rod, which is a steering component. There is an inner tie rod and an outer tie rod. The inner tie rod connects to the steering rack which is what is used to turn your wheels left or right. The outer tie rod connects to the inner tie rod and also to the steering knuckle. If you've got a newer 300 series car, chances are your gonna have them replaced because there are some problems with tie rods on these cars. A TIE rod connects the steering to the wheel.

You should always have an alignment when replacing any steering mechanism such as tie rod, ball joint etc.
A tie rod basically completes the connection between the steering wheel and the wheel itself. It is what steers the vehicle.

You possibly mean tie rod ends. These are a short rod that threads onto the tie rod from the steering box, and has the ball joint on the other end. These vary in price and are usually around 30 -70 or even more depending on the vehicle.
You wreck the car !!!!!!!!!
The tie rod is a rod acting as a tie in a building or other structure. A tie rod is also referred to as a rod in the steering gear of a motor vehicle.
To access a tie rod the Tracer needs to be safely raised and supported. Remove the wheels and lower ball joint. Mark and remove the outer tie rod. Install the new tie rod to the proper marking. Reinstall everything and take the car to receive an alignment.
