Products are created inwarehouses where the brand is created in the minds of the individual. Brands are then put on products to sell to people that have heard of the brand. e.g. shoes are created all the same with obviously different styles, but once a Nike or Adidas logo is on it, it changes to the brand. Nike and Adidas shoes are probably made in the same third world country factories.
To begin, brand equity and brand health are related, but two separate ideas. Brand equity refers to the underlying drivers of "what makes a brand tick." Brand health refers to the overall condition of the brand. There are three levels to measure brand health: consumer level, product level, and firm level. There are many variations at each level. Below are a couple samples of each.1. Consumer level.a. Evaluate brand's awareness levels and brand image by studying consumer.(This is measuring brand equity)b. Brand Mojo score. This looks at the number of lovers vs. haters of a brand.2. Product level.a. Price premium. The idea here is that consumers are willing to pay extra for a branded good or service as compared to an unbranded (or private label) good. The higher the premium, the stronger the brand.b. Revenue Premium measure: The revenue premium method is similar to the price premium approach in that it compares revenue premium (which inherently incorporates pricing) of a branded product to that of an unbranded (or private label) product.3. Firm level.a. Interbrand ranking: A brand's value is done on the basis of projected profits discounted to a present value.b. Replacement level. Brand value is calculated by determining the amount of money required to reproduce the brand.
A service is an intangible act that a business or person performs for a customer, such as mowing a lawn. A product is a tangible item, such as clothing.
okay,, essentially private label and manufacturer label are synonomous. what you want to ask are Name Brand vs. Generic Brand a name brand is any brand that is widely spread and either owns or uses products to promote itself.. like The Coca-Cola company owns coke, sprite, fanta, nestea, fresca and a few others like full throttle and dasani... those are all under the Coke company now, a generic brand is like Publix brand soda or winn-dixie's Check soda... those are generic brands... most often one company, sometimes the large name brand companies, make a product under a generic label... for example there is a company that supplies both Publix and Winn-Dixie with the same type of sugar, obviously with different labels,, but the sugar itself is the same.... the difference all comes down to cost of the product vs. profit (at least for the companies involved)... publix might sell that bag of sugar for a dollar while winn-dixie would sell it for 2 dollars... etc. as far as quality vs. cost, generic brands are always the knock-outs when it comes to quality and quantity for price... one could buy two bags of generic brown sugar but only one or less of the Name brand sugar... which if i must say is of a much lesser quality....
Product marketing and service marketing are different in some ways. With service marketing, it's about relationship and value, and the buyer is purchasing something that is intangible, whereas with product, the buyer is purchasing an item that is tangible. Product marketing is based on a reputation of the quality of product, unlike service marketing, which is mainly based on a reputation from word of mouth. Something else that differentiates the two is that products are returnable, services aren't.
When deciding your target market, you must consider demographics, psychographics, and geographics. Geographics include where your target market lives such as urban vs suburbs, mountains vs beach, different states maybe or countries, and also the climate. So basically, what geography features affect the consumers decision of purchasing the product.
