1. Make sure ignition is in the OFF position.
2. Locate the Programming Connector in the trunk (center of rear shelf). It is a plastic connector with two wires leading up to it. The connector is not plugged into anything. You may have to pull back trim to access the connector.
3. The programming connector should have two terminals. Connect both terminals with a suitable jumper wire. The Keyless Entry Module will lock then unlock all the door lock motors once. Make sure the terminals remain connected throughout the programming procedure.
4. Press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter simultaneously for at least 15 seconds or until the vehicle automatically locks and unlocks the door locks. Your new remote has been accepted and all existing remote codes have been erased.
5. Repeat the previous step for each transmitter to be programmed. Do not remove jumper wire in between programming of transmitters.
6. Remove the jumper wire from the Keyless Programming Connector.

If you're asking about adding a NEW keyless remote, only a dealer can do that. It's a very specialized piece of equipment that can add the new remote to your vehicle's computer. If you're asking about RE-programming your keyless remote after replacing the battery, check the inside cover of the remote. It should give instructions on how to solve your problem.
I am pretty positive that only a Chevy dealer can program the remote keyless entry device for you.
The answer I received from the premier lock-smith shop in Louisville, KY was "Probably". Generally, it has to be an identical "type" of keyless remote. Your best bet is an excellent locksmith. cost to reset is around 30.00 I was advised. (my question was on a 200l Impala)
Try this: Turn the ignition to RUN (do not start), press the unlock button on the keyless remote, ignition OFF. Repeat 2x. Turn the ignition to RUN, press the unlock button on the keyless remote twice, the power locks should cycle to indicate successful programming. Turn the ignition OFF and test remote.
