You say Torah, I say Books of the Law

Christianity and Judaism have the same roots, though Christians, being the followers of Christ, read and teach the New Testament too, as Christ is the fulfillment of many of the Old Testament prophecies, with His birth being first prophesied in Genesis 3:15, or as the theologians call it, the Proto Evangelium, the first mention of the gospel. Christ had His heel bruised by Satan with His death on the cross, but by rising of His own power from the dead, He bruised the head of the serpent by conquering death, hell, and the grave and promising eternal life for all that follow Him and are saved.

Satan is the serpent, as he was in the Garden of Eden, and his head was bruised for he was defeated soundly by Christ for Christ took the full brunt of Satan's power on the cross (as well as taking the penalty for the sin of the world, becoming the personfication of sin, though He never sinned in His life, as God judged His only Son for all past, present and future sin) and won, proving that death nor Satan has any power over God, Christ, or the Holy Spirit, nor those that trust in the saving blood of Jesus Christ to forgive them their sins.

The Bible is broken up into various categories, with all of the actual words being God-breathed/inspired, and these categories are named differently, depending on what perspective is being taken.

The first five books of the Bible is known to the Christians as the Books of the Law of Moses, or the Books of the Law, for short.

A prophet was a man who was always called by god, and he would be a middle man. Tell the people what would happen if they failed to listen to god.

Isaiah and Jeremiah are examples.
