the colon
Surgery is the very first treatment after colon cancer positive diagnosis. Surgery is done to remove the cancerous growths from colon or rectum. For the cancer diagnosis at advance stages other treatments like chemotherapy and radiation therapy can be given along with surgery.
Colon cleansing is said to be healthy for a person because it eliminates waste from your intestines. There can be up to 10 lbs of feces in your intestines that the body doesn't eliminate so cleansing the colon will remove that waste and leave you feeling healthier, lighter, and overall cleaner.
Some treatments for colon cancer can include surgery (colectomy) to remove cancer cells, chemotherapy, and or radiation therapy to remove dangerous cancerous tissues.
Colon
During Colon Surgery your Surgeon will make a cut into your abdomen and take away the part of the colon that has the cancer. He will also take away a small section of the normal part of the colon on either side of the cancer. Then the rest of the pieces of you colon are then reattached. Nearby lymph nodes are taken out and then your Surgeon will close the cut he made earlier.
The need for surgery of the esophagus, duodenum, stomach, colon, and intestines is assessed by medical history, general physical, and x ray after the patient swallows barium for maximum visibility.
The colon is the name for large intestine. Ileum is the small intestine
Treatment of colon cancer is strictly surgical, medications taken are during preparation for surgery (as antibiotics), & after surgery. Chemotherapy could be used for advanced stages
