Dear Sir, To put bolt back in Model 80, first make sure bolt is intact, and there are no pieces missing, as well as being relatively clean. Then, look at rear of bolt. Place bolt so that the black knob at the rear is to your left if left handed, and right if right handed. Use padded pliers or a padded vice to grip knob. Pull on bolt body(part the bolt handle is attached to), and turn so that the projection on the knob turns up a small ramp cut around the edge of the bolt, into a cupped section that will make the knob sit further away from the bolt body than it was. This means the striker is now cocked.(If knob was already in this position, proceed to next step). Now slide bolt back into the receiver as far as it will go, until it stops. BE VERY GENTLE. Hold bolt in with one hand, pull trigger as far back as it will go, and push bolt forward and down into the closed position. TADA! In reality, this is alot simpler than it sounds, and mant Twenty-two bolts are taken out of rifles, or taken out in this way.
The bolt is removed from a Marlin model 81 by first opening the bolt completely, then while holding the trigger back all the way, continue to pull the bolt the rest of the way back. Sometimes it is necessary to hold the trigger back while re-inserting the bolt.
Open the bolt, pull it to the rear, hold the trigger back and remove the bolt. sales@countrygunsmith.net

Open bolt and pull to rearword position. Then pull trigger and hold in back position.Bolt will now slide out.Hold trigger back to reinstall
Put the safety on.....and while pulling back on the trigger (make sure gun is unloaded first) the pull the bolt rearward and remove the bolt. Putting the bolt back in is just the reverse...slide the bolt back in while pulling the trigger back first...the bolt will slide right in. JR
Do you mean the Remington model 700 bolt action rifle?Marlin never made a model 700 to the best of my knowledge.
Bolt removal on this model is fairly straightforward and simple. First work the bolt to the rear as if to chamber a shell. Second pull trigger and continue to pull the bolt to the rear and it will slide out the back of the reciever. To reinstall bolt complete this sequence in reverse.
