I have not owned one myself, but recently have purchased one from Tiger-direct and am awaiting its arrival. From the sparse reviews I have read, (there just doesn't seem to be that many reviews out there on MSI laptops) they seem to be of good quality and performance. Equally, I could not find any negative reviews, postings or comments on these products which would almost seem to be an even better indicator of the overall quality. What inspired my purchase was that compared to other units in the price range, MSI seemed to offer faster processors, better components, upgraded OS and larger memory as well as the equivalent specifications of the other units, so it did not seem that they "skimped" on anything in their builds. We will see in a few days when my unit arrives and I'll update this post. MSI laptops are so cheap; made to an excellent standard! I found a 'touch screen' PC for just £499.99.

As per today's usage of a normal machine, a comp. is generally made for performance at a tight budget. An MSI will be out of the list if you want to save money by not gaming and using the machine just for simple work. Asus & Lenovo, both are recommended brands. MSI will be good if the person just thinks that one day his machine will need to perform well. MSI makes its own motherboards...So, comparatively, The MSI will be long lasting...Me personally will go for any brand as When we benchmark the laptops, we always see the same parts under the lid of different Laptops...So, just hop on to your nearest store...choose the looks, and buy it...:-)
