If they had a nation, a government, an army, navy, air force, marine corps, they would be easier to fight, such as (WWII) Germany, Italy, Japan; or the Korean War, fighting North Korea and Communist China; or the Vietnam War, fighting North Vietnam...which had an air force to fight...an army to fight. Fighting terrorists or other forms of criminals is something no nation has had to do before; on this scale (world wide-the global war on terrorism).

Yes and no. He did not start any wars, but he inherited two wars from President Bush. Mr. Obama ended most of the US involvement in Iraq and brought the vast majority of the troops home in 2011. He is currently overseeing the end of US involvement in Afghanistan, and expects most of the troops to be home by next year.
The US invaded Afghanistan in an attempt to wage war on terrorism, as Afghanistan is a hub for terrorists. The US is not at war with Afghanistan, but is working with the country to fight terrorism and keep Afghanistan out of terrorist hands. The same ideology was behind the Iraqi War.

One of Mr. Obama's campaign promises was to end US involvement in Iraq and bring most of the troops home, a promise that he kept. However, the US is still involved in Afghanistan, although there is a plan in place to end involvement there in 2014.
