It is either because there isn't enough food where they live, the person isn't making an effort to get food, or the person is deliberately not getting enough to eat and is covering it up with lies about how much food is available.

Food production is increasing at a slightly higher rate than the population is increasing. This makes us wonder: why so so many people not have enough food?

Famines and disasters occur and unexpected weather can also cause many to die, especially in countries that don't have large amounts of stored food or resources. Revolutions and wars cause food insecurity. Often in countries where there is an unstable government are there lack of adequate food supplies.
