If it would be possible to buy it and you get it some other way than buying it, you are stealing copyrighted material. Laws are in place to prosecute you for violating copyright laws and it is possible, if they can find you, (your computer has an IP, or a phone number) they can jail you and fine you up to $10,000.

The law states that it is legal to download music for your own personal use, as long as you don't make copies of the music. This includes recordings of radio and TV programs, as long as the copyright owner has no objection. You can play music for friends at home, as long as this is only for your own and your friends' personal enjoyment. But you cannot play the music in public, perform it or make a recording of it.
no it is legal
no p2p downloading is legal, downloading someone else purchased CDs is legal. Legal downloading is when you purchase the music but, remember just because you have purchased the music does not mean you can share it. Off the air recordings from the radio, TV is legal providing you do not sell them. Recording movies or music from cable is legal also providing you do not sell them. Can you share the movies and music you record from cable, the answer is yes. Is it legal to record off the internet from a radio station, I would believe that it would be but not yet approved or not approved.
It is not illegal to email music that you have created yourself or that you hold the legal right to distribute. It is illegal to supply music for which someone else holds the copyrights and distribution rights. Both you, as the sender, and the receiver of the illicitly supplied music would be liable to prosecution.
The recording album
