There is no specific region found near the middle of the chromosome. However, the centromere is the region of DNA that present at the primary constriction of the chromosome. In most depictions of the chromosome this is shown in the middle, but it is not necessary that it has to be in the middle.

Where is the DNA in the porkaryotic and eukaryotic cells?

In eukaryotic cells, DNA exists within the nucleus. In prokaryotic cells, DNA is located as a circular chromosome just in the cytoplasm. There is however a distinct region though but IT IS NOT A NUCLEUS.

Wher is DNA found?

Within a cell's chromosome.

Regions of DNA within each chromosome?

gene

Where in a cell are prokaryotic chromosomes found?

The region of the cytoplasm containing the DNA is called the nucleoid. The term "nucleus" is not appropriate, as there is no nuclear membrane. In bacteria there is a single chromosome, except in the interval between DNA replication and cell division. The chromosome is called circular, meaning that there are no free ends; the DNA molecule is in a loop.

Is A gene is a subunit of information within a chromosome?

Yes, it is!:)

A gene is a small section of DNA located in structures?

A gene is a section of DNA within the chromosome.

What is the region of a chromosome holding the two double strands of replicated DNA together called?

The region of a chromosome holding the two double strands of replicated DNA together is called a centromere. The complex of DNA and protein that makes up eukaryotic chromosome is properly called chromatin.

What are chromosome's and genes?

A gene is a specific region of DNA that codes for a particular protein. A chromosome is a long, continuous thread of DNA that consists of numerous genes and regularity information

The two coiled up strands of DNA within a chromosome are called?

a centromere

What structure are genes found?

Chromosomes in the nucleus contain genes. DNA contains the information that we call a gene. A gene is a region of DNA on a chromosome that contains the information needed by the cells ribosomes to create a protein.

What genes are found in the y chromosome?

The Y chromosome contains more than 59 million blocks of DNA and represents almost 2% of the total DNA in cells within the body. The Y chromosome contains between 20,000 to 25,000 genes within the human genetic make-up.

At the beginning of cell division DNA and the proteins associated with the DNA coil into a structure called an?

chromosome.
