all out this should take 2 13mm spanners a 10 mm spanner, preforablly some car ramps to raise the car.
if raised look under car at alternator, you should see a belt. immidialttly after a 10 mm bolt, undo this bolt as much as possible, about 2 inches toward the engine 1 13mm bolt, undoo this, the belt should become loose, remove belt.
next main bolt for alternator, either a 17mm spanner or a t 25 i think it is hex head inti bolt, undo and remove.
on my pegeot 106 1.0 xn the alternator is in the bottom left hand corner of the engine next to the alternator belt.
There are a few things that could cause this problem. It could be the wiring to the alternator, the alternator solenoid, or the wiring.?æ
If a battery light is staying on, it generally means that your alternator isn't charging properly. Be prepared to have to pay for a new alternator, and if it has been damaged, a new battery as well.
Possible slipping drive belt or more likely the alternator is on the way out
probably loosend up or worn over time replace it and also check pulleys for wear
could be a bearing in the engine, but more likely the alternator belt, if it looks shiny replace, then see how things go.
Your alternator is probably faulty. This means your battery will not be getting recharged properly when driving. I had this for about a wwek and then found my battery was practically dead. I had to get a new alternator (non Peugeot ones on ebay are around £80) They are not too difficult to fit yourself , depend on you model.
