have you tried attaching a usb keyboard? worked for me. also try looking up service manual to see how to install/uninstall keyboard. ribbon cable may just be lose.

I'm not sure on the "locking the keyboard" part...but " Windows key+L " locks down the entire system on any computer running a Windows OS.
