Was the February Revolution not an overthrow from without but a collapse from within?

It is more accurate to say that it was a collapse from within rather than an overthrow from without the government. The riotous protest demonstrations that became known as the February Revolution were not actions designed to overthrow the government They were demonstrations and strikes that the Tsar could no longer control except by appeasing the demonstrators with his abdication. The Tsarist government simply fell apart in the face of this crisis when it could not deal with it.
