Reset alarm in Toyota RAV4 1997?

This probem usually happens when the battery is being replaced or disconneted for some reason. There should be a valet switch or button on the left side of the steering wheel on a pop out pannel. If yours is broken as mine was then you will find the connector which as 3 leads. Take the center lead out of the connector holder and touch it to one of the other outside leads, there are two outside leads so if the first one doesn't work then try the other lead, this should disable the alarm and let you start your engine
