"The Crisis" are the works of Thomas Paine, a Patriot from England with very strong opinions against the king. His most famous work was a pamphlet called "Common Sense". His writings talked about the importance and pro's of being independent from England. He also introduced radical new ideas like Democracy. People liked to read his writings because he wrote them in a way all people could understand. "The Crisis" works were very important in leading up to the writing of the Declaration of Independence.
