If you put a flat blade screw driver on the left side of the vent and gently pry in and up and then do the right side. Do not pry on the bottom because the control arm is exposed and only made of plastic. If you brake the control arm the dealer will only sell you a complete vent.

There are two tabs inside the vent, in past the louvers, one at the 3 o'clock position and one at the 9 o'clock position. Pry the tabs gently toward the center to pull the vent assembly out. Replacement is easy since the assembly just snaps into place. Removal is not easy because both tabs must be moved toward center by about 1/4 inch each and while in that position the vent is pulled straight out away from the instrument panel toward the seats.
