Hey there....not sure about the windshield wipers, but the SRS light sounds like a possible front passengers seat recognition sensor? This would also cause the passengers airbag off light to illuminate intermittantly, when someone sits in the passengers seat. I would recommend taking the ML to your local dealer so they can pull codes for the airbag control module, and tell you exactlly what the fault it. Could be a lot of differant items.
To protect driver and/or passenger from going through windshield in the event of a front end crash
you will get injured
Because newer style windshields are made to reflect the passenger airbag up to the windshield and back toward the passenger. Since tractors don't have airbags they put much different windshields in them.
Typically, replacing any factory steering wheel that has the airbag incorporated into it, with any type or brand of aftermarket steering wheel, the airbag diagnostic module will "see" that there is an airbag missing, and it will request an illumination of the airbag/srs warning lite...
The OFF light also serves as a check light. When you first start the truck, the OFF light illuminates as it checks, then turns off when it senses the airbag is on.
If it exists, it should be in the fuse box under the hood (next to driver's side by the windshield). There should be a diagram on the fusebox cover to show you which one it is exactly.
Yes- but not as much as your face hitting the steering wheel, windshield or dashboard. Not nearly as much. Trust me on this one. Have done it both ways, and I prefer the airbag.
airbags are important because if you get in to a crash you can die without an airbag and its also used for cushion when it happens
The last recall done by Toyota was on April 10, 2013 for windshield wiper and airbag issues. It was their first recall this year. Their last recall was on October 16, 2012.
airmatic means airbag.when an accident happens the the airbag in the car blow out so that it covers the person from getting injuries
The airbag warning light is indicating the airbag(s) may NOT be functionig. As it says in the manual, "Ignoring the AIRBAG warning light in your instrument panel could mean you won't have the airbags to protect you, (or your passangers), in a collision...have the airbag system checked RIGHT AWAY." Always wear your seatbelt!!! On my 2004 there is a light on the passanger grab bar that indicates the passanger airbag is off. This happens when a child is in the seat to protect the child from the sudden force of an airbag. It can also be fooled by a package or briefcase on the seat. This is normal. When an adult sits on the passanger side the light should go off. This information was an addition to the 2004 manual.
Airbag was created in 1973.
