You don't necessarily need to have a phone number, you just contact your manager and tell him when you want to take vacation. He'll let you know if there is a time open during the time you request and try to get it covered. Most Managers for safeway pass around a sheet at the beginning of each year for you to put your vacation requests in early to better assure you'll get the time requested.
