If you are a guy (and straight), then your motives are good and you should. If you two used to be an item, then you should not. You both have moved on and he has obligations that you should not distract him from. Every minute he would spend with you is not with his baby or the mother of that baby.
If you still have feelings for him, that is natural and not something to feel guilty about but it is actions you are responsible for. Calling him would be selfish and not good for at least three other people.
