If you don't leave your computer open for very long, I'd say just forego getting a screen saver. Since you won't really enjoy seeing it much, it would be pointless to use up space on your hard drive for a screen saver.
a screen saver
A screen saver is the thing when you turn on your computer and it says internet. BUT the SCREEN SAVER is the thing BEHIND where it says internet. Like the picture.
You're probably thinking of the 'screen saver'.
see if you have a screen saver and you have gone somewhere for a minute or so and there is a guy sitting who can see what you are doing so as soon as you go the computer puts a screensaver and locks the computer so when you come back it is safe and know one has fiddled with your computer leave me a message i will update this answer soon
No, but if you leave your computer on the Screen-saver and leave it there then it should save. Good Luck -Newbie-
Usually the 'screen-saver'. If a TV or computer screen is left on with the same image, it can 'burn' the image onto the screen - creating 'ghosting'. A screen-saver allows your computer to stay on - while protecting the screen's pixels.
That would be the screen saver.
It sounds like you have a short time delay for when the screen saver kicks-in. Change the time delay the computer sets between your last activity and starting the screen-saver. In windows 7 - right-click anywhere on your screen (so long as your mouse-pointer is not over an icon) and select personalize. In the dialogue box that appears, left-click on the screen saver icon (bottom-right of the box). You should see the word wait a small box next to it. The number in the box is the length of time the computer waits to start the screen-saver. Use the up and down buttons to change the time interval to a more suitable period. Remember to click apply.

You know that your computer is in sleep mode when the screen is dark and all you see is your screen saver. There will not be any sounds coming from the computer either.
It prevents the screen from having images burned into it.
Disable your screen saver, if you use one, and disable any "sleep" function if you use one.
