It is best for horses to have a least one horse companion as they are herd animals and can feel nervous and unsafe without another horse. They will also get very lonely, and could also get moody and bad tempered because he is being isolated. So, if possible, do get another horse to go with your current horse. Many horses are for sale as companion only, as they are no longer ridable. Or, a rescue centre might loan you a horse for companion. Hope I've helped!
Whiskey
yes because if he/she doesnt, the rust will contaminate the food and the horse will have a stomache ache.like... a really bad one
There is no certain breed of horse that would be ideal for a first time horse owner. The best type of horse a first time buyer should look for is one that has some experience, is tempermental and easy to control and handle.
Well when you first ride your new horse you want to just get a feel for how the horse reins and how he or she reacts to your leg and hand signals. Your horse may have been trained differently then you, and you should just get the feel of him or her the first time you ride. Hopefully you have not bought the horse yet and you are just trying him or her out at the breeders, but if you have bought him of or her already, that is OK too.
No never, not even if going through a narrow gap, always walk to one side so the horse doesnt bolt and trample you. absolutely not, you don't want to lead directly in front of the horse, but you don't want to lead right behind the horse either. you should lead the horse from your right, so the horse does does not feel intimidated. When going through a small gap, it is nice to be able to lunge the horse in a small half circle through the gate, yield his hind quarters and then walk through, so that you both don't have to swish through. It's safer to do it this way.
It should be cleaned everyday even if the horse doesnt use it, because mold can grow there and hurt the horse.

Not to deep so your horse doesnt fall through so round about 2 inches deep
lonely pony
Any breed can be a good first horse so long as the rider and horse get along and match each others skills.
no santa doesnt have a horse but he has lots of reindeer :D.
as long as you love horses, it shouldn't matter. but be in mind that you should be finacally prepared to take care of the horse and you should have enought time to put in with the horse. You should know about the horse's needs

It doesnt really matter were you stand when you are leading a child on a horse you should stand by the horses shoulder and most people would say that you should stand bt the horses shoulder but i dont really think it matters
it really depends on the horse. if it spits it out then it doesnt like it
mesure your horse first
They can get spooked at anything, but being separated from their herd can make the horse feel vulnerable or lonely.
