Why would a student at age 16 have an education debt? In this state in the United States it would be illegal to hold a student responsible for such a debt at that age. Besides, at 16, it would be almost impossible for a student to find almost any decent paying job.

Student loan if school chapter 7?

You owe the loan. The bankruptcy of who you gave it to makes no difference on who or what you owe your debts. (And if you owe the school money, you will be required to pay it too, and that money will be used to pay some of the debts of the BK school.) It would seem you just made a bad, and possibly costly, choice of places to buy an education from.

That depends on the nature of the debts- whether they are joint debts. If they are solely debts of the decedent then his estate is responsible. You should speak with an attorney to determine your rights and obligations.

The estate is responsible for the decedent's debts. One of the primary reasons someone should open an estate is to resolve such debts. The estate has to pay off the debts. If the estate cannot do so, they distribute as best they can. If the court approves the distribution, the debts are ended.
