Unfortunately, the Wikipedia articles that are on Answers.com (on the ReferenceAnswers side, not the WikiAnswers side) are exact copies of the Wikipedia articles, and they update almost as fast. It wouldn't do any good to edit it only on the ReferenceAnswers side, because any edit would only be copied over when we got the next update from Wikipedia.
Wikipedia can be edited by anyone around the world. So many articles are constantly changing as things happen that affect articles or people see something in an article that they think should be changed.
You can and can't because just like in Wikipedia, if you have an account, you can change ANYTHING! I put the truth on here.
Wikipedia articles can be edited by anyone on the internet. This means the information on there cannot be trusted as being reliable. You should focus on using published journal articles and books for your research.
I would wait a minimum of 4 hours for the text of a Wikipedia article to update, but it will never update on WikiAnswers without help... it will only update automatically on the ReferenceAnswers side of Answers, not the WikiAnswers side. So, two things if you see incorrect information from Wikipedia on the WikiAnswers side... first of all, we don't allow cutting and pasting on WikiAnswers, so that content should be taken down. Second, if we have incorrect information on this side... this side is a wiki, and you can edit it directly.
Copying and pasting content from other websites is not allowed on WikiAnswers. WikiAnswers strives to be a source of quality original content. However, small passages from websites such as Wikipedia may be excerpted (with attribution) but should be part of a larger original work. We encourage you to rephrase such content in your own words and combine them with your own original insight whenever possible. For more information see the Plagiarism Policy in the related links below.
NOTE: The website you are presently viewing is WikiAnswers, NOT Wikipedia. They are two different sites. WikiAnswers is a question and answer site. Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia. Both are "wikis", which means they are human-edited. Info should never be copied word for word from other sites. This answer depends on the user and their personal integrity.
Articles should be high of quality, it should catch the interest of the readers and of course it should be keyword centered articles. It doesn't matter what type of articles as long as it is interesting.
Depending on the use, it is normally wiki, from the Hawaiian wiki wiki, meaning quick. The capitalized form should only be used informally when referring to projects such as Wikipedia or WikiAnswers. In formal use, these should be written out so that readers will know which Wiki you are referring to.
Facts which are not considered common knowledge should be cited, regardless of copyright. Wikipedia articles, for example, should still be cited.
Any magazine will pay if the articles are of high enough quality. However, most magazines are not looking for one-off articles and rely on their hired writers to produce the articles. You should search for magazines looking for part time writers.
You are more than welcome to have a go at it. WikiAnswers should be a place to answer questions that Google and Wikipedia can't easily address. These should be fairly uncomplicated Q&A or thw WikiAnswers answer should be a summary and a pointer to more complete explanations. But WikiAnswers is still finding its proper place. it would be one of these answers a)attracted to the negative terminal of the voltage source b) incapable of carrying a charge c) attracted to the anode of the voltage source d) considered an impurtity in the crystal
You have to be a member of WikiAnswers to write articles. Look under the 'Quick Links' section and you should see a link for "Write Articles." Just click that and follow the directions. Your article must be reviewed by our experts before it is published, but that doesn't take very long.
