If significant clinical depression is being treated, and the 15 year old is being helped by antidepressant treatment, (along with psychotherapy, as well, hopefullly), then this combination can be beneficial. Careful monitoring for suicidal ideation and side effects is an essential part of follow-up visits with the prescribing physician.
Yes, my daughter has been on Strattera, Wellbutrin and Depakote for about a year and a half.
I'm no expert, but I've been taking wellbutrin for almost a year. I wouldn't call wellbutrin a "high." I have always been a pretty emotional person, but once I got to college and had actual stressors in my life, it kept taking me longer and longer to snap out of moods caused by everyday conflicts. Wellbutrin -and counseling- has allowed me to see conflicts without immediately reacting with emotion. Instead I react with reason, and decide how I should feel once I assess the situation. It's not really an upper, or a downer. It delays emotional response without having a numbing affect. Some people report having jitters, but I never have. I took celexa and then lexapro for awhile, and those gave me bizarre jittery side-effects - I would describe it as constantly feeling like you have to stretch. Wellbutrin really worked for me, but be warned. High doses of Wellbutrin - or even regular doses, depending on the person - can cause seizures. I had one recently and now have to look for something else that works just as well. :(
Yes, I've been doing it for over a year and have no issuse as long as your blood pressure remains normal and consistant.
I take Wellbutrin 150SR every day and donate blood at least once a year. I always state that I take Wellbutrin and the blood bank staff always says it is not a problem.
Answer There should be an expiry date marked on the box but if there isn't I wouldn't take them as they are a year old and may not have the same effect as they would have had last year.
I can say this about that . . . I am on daily wellbutrin, and my doctor advised me to take Aleve for a very sore Achilles tendon earlier this year. Take from that what you will . . .
well if it helps my phdoc has me on 40 ml celexa and 50ml of seroquel. seems to be a good combination for me i feel okay through the day and sleep well at night. i take celexa in the morning and seroquel at bedtime.
Wait till your 18 to take supplements kid
My experience with Wellbutrin was yes, it helped me lose weight that I had gained on other anti-depressants. I had been taking EFFEXOR for a long time and kept gaining weight. I was switched to Celexa and told that it shouldn't make me gain weight. I continued to gain weight on the Celexa. I also had sexual side effects. The doctor switched me to Wellbutrin. I had gained 20 lbs. since starting SSRI's. Once I stopped taking those and switched to Wellbutrin, I lost 10 lbs. easily. The other 10 I had to work at to take off, but it came off! On the SSRI's it seemed like no matter what I did to lose weight it wouldn't work. Hope this helps!
children shouldn't take more that 100mg per day or 1.2mg/kg body wt. 0.454kg = 1lbs there fore this 75lb or 34.1kg kid should not exceed 40mg per day.

Depends on the mg/ml. My drug book says mild to moderate infections is 25 mg/kg of weight per day, for moderate to severe 40mg/kg. If a medical professional hasn't given you the prescription for the 3 year old you should not give it. All medications for kids this age can result in adverse reactions that are sometimes life altering.
