Yes. My son was able to do that with 6-7 months. With 10 months now already gives a few steps by himself, if holding on the edge of the bed or something, he can even run a few steps (usually runs away from me or his dad, as if playing tag with us.) And from 8 months on he kicks a ball like a pro! Dribbles the ball better than Cristiano Ronaldo at his age, I am sure!

Babies "use" their legs from birth with kicking. From about 3 months old with scooting, then crawling. Around 9 months, give or take a month, babies can stand while holding on. Slowly they learn to let go and simply stand and balance by themselves. And finally, they learn to walk independently, first with falls and mishaps before mastering the skill.
