A child should never feel truly threatened by any of their family members. Scared of getting a spanking, sure, but not actually scared that they may be beaten up or killed. If you seriously feel threatened, you should tell someone like a policeman or another adult in your family who would help you get out of the situation.

∙ 8y agoNo, not seriously threatened. They should have respect for her, but not fear of her. The only threat they should feel should be of fair consequences. If the child knows they are bringing home a bad report card, feeling the threat of being grounded would be fair. However, that is not the same as feeling threatened by her.

If you feel as though you would be awarded custody then go for it times are not easy and the father helped you make her he should help support her. It took me 4years to realize it and then I looked into what the argument would be in court because most states are mother states they more then likely award custody to the mother and one of your arguments can be that he threatened to take her away if he had to help support her. The most the court might ask you to do is partial custody and award you a smaller portion of child support but it is well worth it. CJ
