It is not written in stone that a married man having an affair should talk to his wife about it before breaking up with the woman. If he finds he has made a mistake; sorry for what he has done then he should immediately break it off with the other woman; be honest with his wife and tell her about the affair and why he did have the affair. Hopefully both can calmly talk about it; perhaps see a marriage counselor and get their marriage back on track.
