4. well usually perms look more great on kids more then do on parents and older people. but nothing will happen to your hair you just have to get one every year to make it stay in cause it fades away. but in the morning or if your going out somewhere public simply wet your hair and scrunch it a little with out any moose or anything.

i know it will look great on who ever is getting one.

I'm not sure if this is a question about hair or some sort of ethical question. I cannot tell you whether or not it's "okay" for a kid that age to perm it, as she is not my kid.

Perming in general damages your hair, and the hair of a 4 year old tends to be more sensitive than the hair of an adults. So this is something that should be kept in mind. However, since nothing is mentioned about the hair type, it would probably be best to go to a salon and talk to the stylist about the exact issues that might come up as a result of doing such.

It might also be pointed out that perming pulls at the hair and the solution can burn the skin a bit, so this might be kept in mind, as kids this age tend to have a fairly low pain tolerance.

Getting a perm takes a lot of maintenance, you have to take care of chemically treated hair and deal with a hair type that you've never had before. There is also some risk involved, since there is no guarantee that the perm will turn out how you want it, you might have to walk into school on Monday with some embarrassingly damaged hair. Although my general recommendation is to not get a perm so young, if you still want one talk to a parent about why you want the perm and decide with them if it is a good choice.

Old enough to be able to sit still for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Young children do receive perms all the time but the child's hair must be strong and I feel age 7 or 8 is okay to start getting perms.
