Abortions are of course needed for health purposes but that is probably not what you meant. What we know today, and what the WHO also says, is that making it illegal or impossible for women to have an abortion will not stop abortions - it will just stop the safe ones. People have different opinions about it but in the end it is about who has more rights - the woman or the embryo. In countries where it is legal the answer is the woman. She is the one with a life, family, friends and she can feel and is aware of her existence - all things a embryo/fetus is incapable of. Then there are those who have based their opinion on their religion. People of the same religion can have different opinions on the matter. But if laws are going to be made about abortion we can not let religion rule. In the US it is even going against the constitution. So in my opinion it should be legal and up to each woman to decide but to ahve a löimit where the fetus can live on it's own.
There is danger to any medical procedure. Your doctor should discuss any possible problems with you before you consent to any procedure.
In the United States, women can get an abortion up to 24 weeks of pregnancy. There are exceptions, however, in rare cases such as if the woman's life is in jeopardy.
