If you mean the very low cost "El Cheezo" type, no, I see no advantage in that: They sound lousy, and are difficult to play. Neither of those things helps to inspire a beginner. There are inexpensive Guitars that sound good, and play reasonably well - they may be a few dollars more, but are well worth it.
