Circumcision being the removal of the foreskin from a male is far from illegal. Depending on the region of the world, it may be the norm. In the past decades the popularity of circumcision has waxed and waned periodically. Currently, the practice of elective circumcisions is decreasing, but there is evidence that the practice is beginning to make a comeback, largely due to the fact that it decreases the incidence of particular diseases including HIV.
On the other hand "circumcision" of a female, which isn't really a circumcision at all, is generally considered genital mutilation, and is generally illegal.

I believe that circumcision should be illegal in the United States and everywhere. It is a violation of United Nations law that prevents the genital mutilation of babies.
Circumcision of infants for example is illegal in the USA. The law is just not enforced for political reasons. It is illegal to mutilate children and circumcision should be seen as the same as amputating any part of a child's body for religious or other non medical reasons. There seems to be a different attitude to female genital mutilation though which is a good start.

∙ 11y agoYes it should should be for childeren ,there are no benefits of being circumcised at all except maybe for looks the foreskin serves many portan functions not the least of which is that it is a major erogenous zone.I'm "intact" and proud of it..

∙ 11y agoNo it isn't, and it shouldn't be. I am an enthusiastic advocate for abolishing circumcision as an automatic procedure for newborn males, but the procedure itself is indicated, rarely, for some conditions that almost always come to light much later than right after birth.

They have no reason to. For JW's, the decision of circumcision is a personal one. Some parents have their infant son circumcised, others do not. We have no religious mandate for or against it. The requirement for circumcision in the Bible was in the old Mosiac Law, and we as christians are under the Law of the Christ, which replaced the old Law convenant. The Law of the Christ has no requirement for circumcision.

There is an organization called Catholics Against Circumcision that argues that circumcision is against the spiritual principles of Catholics, and that therefore Catholics should remain intact. Therefore to ask in which denomination circumcision is more common is irrelevant. It is likely that there is very little difference between them.
