When did the religion start of Hinduism?

Strange but true that Hinduism is NOT a religion... it is a "WAY OF LIVING". I tell you how... The concept of 'dharma' (religion) came into existence since times immemorial. It is believed (and it is evident in many ways) that Vedas were the first uttered by 'Brahma' and they WERE NOT originally His words. I mean, Brahma ONLY uttered the words (so that the ULTIMATE knowledge should benefit the mankind) and they are God's words. Bhagwan Vishnu urged Brahma to speak out the 4 Vedas. The followers of Vedas (those who studied and carried forward the knowledge) were called as 'sanatan dharmee' (The followers of the 'sanatan' (existing since the origin of mankind) 'dharma' (religion)) Later these 'sanatan dharm' followers took out certain ideas/concepts/views of the 'sanatan dharma' and gave rise to many sub-systems like the 'arya samaaj'/'bhudism/jainism/sikhism/ etc. Many would not believe but had it not been so.. what religion would you say, the originators of all these religion belong to? And, how come numerous people of these religions faithfully follow and believe in (so called) Hindu gods and godesses? Dont believe me? Come to India and see for yourself! Not praising Hinduism... but the fact remains that preachings of ALL religions culminate into Hinduism! Study it. I bet you would agree.

Do islam and Hinduism have differences in their holybooks?

Islam is a religion and hinduism is a "dharma". Every religion has a set of rules which should be followed by the follower of that religion, but dharma is about living your own way of life. you can live your life as your wish and find your own path to god. The holy books of hinduism and islam are totally different. the main difference is that muslims are asked to follow the quaranic rules to live their life but hindus are independent to choose their own way until and unless it does not harm others.

What do Hinduism people believe in?

You have asked a very ambiguous question. The question should have been, 'what Hinduism people do not believe in'? The answer would have been that there is nothing that hindus do not believe in. Which is what happens when you give the right to hold individual opinions to a billion people. No two hindus have exactly the same kind of belief. There are all kinds of beliefs in Hinduism, right from polytheism to monotheism to monism to atheism. They believe in science, they believe in voo-doo also, in ghosts and angels. Hindu belief cannot in any way be limited. The answer to 'what Hinduism people believe in?' is social responsibilities and peace, or 'Dharma' (duty and righteous action). The main concern of Hinduism is that the family should lead a satisfied, peaceful, and progressive life; and there should be no discord in the society.

Dharma is the moral obligation a person has in their life, like a man has certain obligations as a man to fufill like providing for his family. Moksha is liberation. Once moksha is acheived, you can therefore break the chain of karmic consequences and your soul can move on.

What is daharma?

The term is an Indian spiritual and religious term that means one's righteous duty, or any virtuous path. A Hindu's dharma is affected by a person's age, class, occupation, and gender. In Indian languages it can be equivalent simply to religion, depending on context. The word dharma translates as that which upholds or supports, and is generally translated into English as law. According to the various Indian religions, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism, beings that live in accordance with Dharma proceed more quickly toward dharma yukam, moksha or nirvana (personal liberation). The antonym of dharma is adharma meaning unnatural or immoral. In traditional Hindu society, dharma has historically denoted a variety of ideas, such as Vedic ritual, ethical conduct, caste rules, and civil and criminal law. Its most common meaning however pertains to two principal ideals: that social life should be structured through well-defined and well-regulated classes (varna), and that an individual's life within a class should be organized into defined stages (ashrama, see dharmasastra). Dharma also refers to the teachings and doctrines of the founders of Buddhism and Jainism, the Buddha and Mahavira. In Buddhist philosophy, dhamma/dharma is also the term for "phenomenon".
