Until recently the standard was to underline links. The new Web 2.0 design themes don't underline links (e.g. face book).
Best thing is to test it on your website and see what performs best. But also keep in mind that the purpose of underlining links meant that it attracted attention. Users knew that it was a link - even new users were aware that underlined text would take them to new pages of related information (according to the label of the link) if they would click on it. So make sure that whatever design you choose to use on your links is something that is a slight variation of regular text, either as a different color from the text or even as a rollover color change - whatever you think of to suit your (and your readers') needs. Also, you should want to use something that matches the overall design theme of your website and is appropriate for the audience you intend to reach out to.
