"Dry rot" (usually fungal decay of cut and cured wood) does not affect ceramic materials, such as your china.

As a case in point, my parents own a centuries-old Chinese vase dating to the early Ming dynasty. Though it is not a significant million-dollar piece, it is a definitive example of "old china". It is kept in a case, and is never washed. One can assume that conditions have been similar through most of its existence.
