We need to all get along.
Affirmative Action is not a form of communism; Communism is a system designed to make all people equal. In communism, the people's welfare and occupation is chosen by the government in a way that best serves the people as a whole. Affirmative Action is designed to create a system in which all people are given equal opportunity to succeed. This system was create to battle the effects of racism in society that make minority progress more difficult than it should be.
Racism exists everywhere. It is not just prevalent in Australia, but in countries all around the world. Racism exists wherever there are two or more different races of people, and as Australia is a very multicultural country, racism will appear more obvious there.
Racism puts people or groups of people into certain molds, typically called stereotypes. By living in this kind of world we aren't judging people for who they are and their capabilities we're judging them on what we assume they are. Problems that are the result of racism are unfairly judging one group's actions and punishing them more severely, unfair advantages to move ahead, unequal treatment in the work force or at schools. Almost every action in daily life is affected by racism, the biggest problem however is actually stopping to notice it and trying to change it.
action verbs
Racism has changed because people are more accepting of others no matter what their race is. It is also acceptable for different races to marry one another.
People do not always call it racism. Just because there are a few who pull the race card no matter what does not mean it is the whole of any race or of people. Usually, the media will pay more attention to the ones who see it as racism, even when it's not, than pay attention to those who don't see it as racism at all. So, it can look as if everyone is on board with it when they are not.
Anyone considering to answer this question should keep in mind that any subjective thoughts placed here will be deleted. That would be considered racism.
No. It simply gets more 'press' because it is less acceptable and so is more often a topic of discussion. If by 'More racism' you mean more people feel that other races are inferior, there's probably less. It's now far more polarized, and yes, is more newsworthy.
well he is more likely to be faceing racism at school then in collage.
Racism has not stopped; it is continually becoming more of a problem in our society today.
yes, fire the accuser. an employee has falsely accused you of racism, that is lying and can be considered a hostile act in the work environment. More information: A supervisor falsely accused of racism may fire the employee ONLY if the accusation was made deliberately with knowledge that the accusations are without merit. If after investigation and/or hearing on the matter, it is determined that the accusations did not amount to actionable racism BUT were made in good faith, the supervisor has no right to take any action. Any adverse action taken against an employee after a finding that the accusations were made in good faith would constitute prohibited retaliatory action and the supervisor could be punished for that alone.
This is a loaded and volatile question.Edit: While I agree with the previous answer, there was a poll taken on who THINKS there's more racism; 43% of whites think racism is a problem, and 49% of blacks think it is. The idea of one group being more racist than the other is actually a nearly impossible question to answer. It depends on where you are, what the background of people are, and basically it comes down to what people themselves personally believe.
