It's probably unconstitutional to require students to "salute" (in whatever sense) the American flag in the first place, and even if it's not, a coerced display of respect really isn't a display of respect at all.
So, in short, yes. Part of the much vaunted freedom that the flag stands for is the freedom to choose not to respect it. And if another student takes note of who chooses not to respect the flag, and bases their vote for class president or whatever on that... well, remember that "it's a free country" means precisely that.
I think that American Veterans should be honored by not only saluting them but also having them gather in Washington D C and we can dedicate a Statue with all of their names carved on it so they know that they are respected and admired for their bravery
u should say "it's ok" to show that u hv excused

This is my thought son the question. I believe that the court ordered visitation should be an excused absence from school seeing that if the custodial parent does not OBEY the court order it is then considered Contempt of Court, so....Yes if it is court ordered a child should be excused from school for a visitation.
why should teachers challenge students

to show respect. also if you're saluting a person, you look at them, so if you salute a flag, you should look at it.
Environmental and Humanities should be capitalized, but students should not.
The president has not specifically discussed what days students should be in school. He has, however, discussed the importance of education, the role that parents should play in encouraging their children to study, and the need for certain improvements in the American educational system so that students can compete in a global economy.
i think only certain students that can be trusted should
