It is alright for kids to use technology in trying to learn things as long as they are moderated. But information from technology advancement (like the internet, should not be used as the only source of information or reference in classroom discussions. The children of today were born in a generation of technological breakthroughs and development. The older generation are not so much into these gizmos and gadgets. When a particular gadgets serves its purpose, the older generation is satisfied. On the contrary, the younger ones are not. They rely so much on technology that they can actually discover what a new gadget is for faster than how to open a can with a stainless spoon. Instead of focusing on what's inside the technology, educators and parents should focus on how to use it optimally for a healthy, responsible and intelligent individual.

What programs does applied science degree transfer to?

It really depends on the specific program of study. Some transfer well, while others do not. In other words, most applied science degrees in the technologies are transferable to a four year institution as long as the student stays in technology. For example, the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) accepts technology degrees full faith in credit from community colleges as long as the student stays within the same field. However, a student that takes an applied science degree in business management at a community college will probably lose most of their credits in transfer no matter where they transfer to.It really depends on the specific program of study.
