Filter and fluid should be changed A.S.A.P. Y-THINK-Y
the transmission filter is in the transmission sump located under the gearbox. it is a flat panel type filter you best bet to buy a new one is to go to Chevrolet. they should be changed every 30'000 miles it is not a job for the diy'er as it needs to be changed in a clean environment as any dirt will destroy the transmission. and any mistake you make will also kill it as you get no second chances.
It didn't replace it. The Chevrolet Aveo's name changed to Chevrolet Sonoc.
A Chevrolet Silverado that has cruise control problems might be having a problem with the part of the engine that controls speed and fuel intake. One culprit for this problem is the Speed Control Sensor that is located in the transmission. This part can be easily changed because it is more or less a probe that fits into the rear of the transmission.
Chevrolet has not changed the injectors in the 3.6 L V6 motor since 2009.
I own a shop and we use the BG transmission fluid flush machine. An additive is put in and run for 30 minutes. Then the machine is hooked up and flushes 16 quarts of transmission fluid through it. Next a conditioner is added. Doing this does NOT require the filter to be changed.
If the unit is an automatic, experts recommend about every 20,000 miles under severe use (towing etc.) and every 30,000 miles or so with regular use. Keep a close eye (and nose) on the fluid especially in the summer heat because it should ALWAYS be changed if it loses its' reddish-pink color or smells burnt like toast. It will be a brownish hue at this time and it has to be changed. Beware that some of the high mileage and semi-snythetic ATF's also have a brownish hue to them. You could probably use the same guidlines for a manual transmission as most of the Rangers manual units call for ATF also.
Transmission fluid must be changed every 10,000 miles.
Have transmission fluid and filter changed. Checked Transmission mounts
It is unlikely that the transmission would fail after a fluid change. The transmission filter should be changed at the same time. If it was not changed at the same time it could have caused the issue.
Your best bet for a superior transmission flush would be to go to bgfindashop.com and locate a shop near you. The BG system has a cleaner that is used first. Then they do a total fluid exchange to include the transmission cooler and a conditioner is added. Also doing it with their system does NOT require that the filter be changed. And if your milage is okay you will get a guarantee.
Possible answer, Trasnsmission shift cable/linkage out of position so trans thinks it is not in p or n.
